DOORS Vs Teamcenter

All,

We use DOORS to manager requirements & Teamcenter to manage CAD Models drawings etc... I was asked to build a integration b/w these two database, so that the DOORS requirement can be directly linked to Teamcenter design elements.

Has anyone tried integrating these?

What module of Teamcenter are you using?

Teamcenter Engineering or Teamcenter Enterprise or Teamcenter UA? Each has a different underlying database structure.

I don't know of anyone that does it directly. I've seen Teamcenter Engineering to Teamcenter Systems Engineering (their DOORS equivalent)and then to DOORS through a third party product called T-Plan Integrator.

Thanks a lot for your reply. Need to build a integration between DOORS to Team center Engineering.

How about using Teamcenter Requirement Manager module and linking each requirements to design elements?, Like... Exporting a DOORS module as XML.. then Import the xml data into Teamcenter 2007 requirement module? Not sure, whether this will allow me to create links between requirements and design elements.

Then, I may need to duplicate the same data into two instance DOORS & Teamcenter ;-(

Does Teamcenter have any kind of unique URLs for each drawing you can create external links to?

By your answer I can assume you are working with Teamcenter Unified Architecture (UA). Which unfortunately means I can't help you much.

Yes you can import XML but not directly into the Requirements Module. There are several steps required to get there. But once it is there you should be able to link to the object in DOORS.

I'm sorry I can't help with the specific steps but I no longer have access to the documentation and I don't have enough experience with UA to help you off the top of my head.
